I am Brittany Burian, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have worked for over a decade helping individuals, couples, children and their families with trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, and more. My specialized and personal treatment incorporates years of proven techniques that aim to uncover and solve problems at their root.
Just as every person is unique, so is the therapy I provide. With an individualized integrative treatment approach, I am able to use many modalities, tailoring treatment to meet the individual and their own unique issues.

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist working in private practice in the charming town of Sierra Madre just east of Pasadena. I graduated from the Marriage and Family Therapy department of Fuller Seminary in 2004 earning an M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy.

I believe therapy helps people gain greater self-understanding, grow a higher capacity for intimacy, develop better self-control, and learn to accept their limitations. Each week, clients are able to slow down and ask why they do, think, and feel as they do, with the guidance and support of a non-judgmental professional. My empathy and compassion enhances my real-world training helping to build strong relationships and a safe space.
The issues I address in therapy include communication, conflict resolution, intimacy struggles, stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, parenting, and other relationship issues that keep people from enjoying their lives in the present.
The primary model of psychotherapy that I work from is psychodynamic theory. This means that I help people understand how experiences from the past may be connected to what’s happening in the present in order to work toward positive, healthy, and realistic changes. I also draw on cognitive behavioral therapy which focuses on the connection between thinking, feeling and behavior; and family systems which explores how family members relate to each other and how the family functions as a whole. I am experienced in treating trauma in children and adults using EMDR.
